Aspiring Scholars Directed Research Program (ASDRP)

The Aspiring Scholars Directed Research Program (ASDRP) is a competitive research programme for students in Grades 9–12. Students participate in authentic STEM research under the guidance of research mentors, work on original projects, develop scientific research skills, and present their findings at research events. ASDRP is a programme of the nonprofit Olive Children Foundation.

• Opportunity to conduct authentic scientific research. • Mentorship from experienced researchers and scientists. • Opportunity to join a research laboratory and explore a specific field. • No previous research experience required. • Development of scientific thinking, data analysis, programming, and academic writing skills. • Weekly Research 101 training and scientific seminars. • Opportunity to present research at the Research Symposium / Expo. • Opportunities to prepare publications, preprints, and conference materials. • Additional courses such as Machine Learning, Organic Chemistry, and MATLAB at no extra cost for participants. • Full and partial scholarships available.

• Students currently enrolled in or entering Grades 9–12. • No previous research experience required. • Interest in science and willingness to learn quickly. • Motivation and ability to commit to a research project. • SAT/GPA scores and academic competitions are not defining admissions criteria. • International students may apply. • Admission is competitive and depends on available research positions.
