Cambridge Future Scholar Research Programme
Description
The Cambridge Future Scholar Research Programme is a highly selective online research-focused programme for high school students. Students study in small groups of up to 5 participants, taught by current faculty members from Cambridge, Oxford, Harvard, MIT, Stanford, and other leading universities. Over 13 weeks, students build academic knowledge, conduct independent research, and produce an original research paper.
What you get
Teaching and mentorship from faculty at leading UK and US universities. Very small classes of up to 5 students. 13 weeks of lectures, seminars, supervision, and research. Opportunity to complete an original independent research project. Production of a substantive academic research paper. Academic writing support through the Oxbridge Writing Centre. Guidance on preparing research for academic publication and conferences. Option to request a personalized letter of recommendation from the faculty mentor. A detailed signed evaluation report from the mentor. Opportunity to earn 10 UK government-recognised undergraduate credits, equivalent to 5 ECTS credits or 2.5 US college credits, at no additional cost. Access to academic databases through the mentor and guidance on data collection. Strong addition to an academic portfolio and university application.
Requirements
Primarily designed for students in Sixth Form / Grades 11–12. Exceptionally talented younger students may also be admitted. Strong academic preparation and genuine passion for the selected subject. Applicants should provide school academic records/transcripts. SAT, ACT, and PSAT scores are optional. Strong applicants may be invited to a 15–30-minute academic interview. Sufficient English proficiency for lectures, discussions, and academic writing. Ability to commit approximately 4 hours per week, including programme sessions and independent work.
