Columbia Junior Science Journal (CJSJ)

An academic research journal for high-school students, supported by the Columbia Undergraduate Science Journal. CJSJ provides students worldwide with an opportunity to publish original research papers and review articles in the natural sciences, physical sciences, engineering and social sciences.

Opportunity to undergo a rigorous editorial process and potentially publish in an academic journal; develops scientific writing and communication skills; allows students to present research to a broader scientific audience; provides strong evidence of independent research experience for an academic portfolio.

High-school students from anywhere in the world may submit. Students who have already graduated high school, including students taking a gap year before university, are not eligible. Only one strongest paper may be submitted. CJSJ accepts original research papers (2–3 pages) and review articles (4–5 pages). Applicants must complete the submission form and Permission to Publish Form. For original research, the form is generally signed by the student and PI/mentor/teacher; mentor information may be left blank where applicable. Team papers are allowed, with one primary author responsible for submission.
