There is no general high-school eligibility category. Authors must satisfy ICMJE authorship criteria. Submissions authored solely by medical students are not accepted. For a high-school student, the realistic route is to contribute substantively to research with a qualified physician/researcher as a co-author. Cureus accepts Original Research, Review Articles, Case Reports, Technical Reports and Editorials; original studies may require IRB/ethics approval and clinical-trial registration. A recommendation letter and motivation essay are not standard submission requirements.
