Economics World Cup (EWC)

A global online economics competition for students roughly aged 12–19. Participants solve practical economics problems, take part in a trading simulation and, in the final, work on a real-world case study in an economics strategy consulting format. No prior economics knowledge is required.

No prior preparation or knowledge required; fully online; team-based; practical application of economics; workshops from Oxford Finance Society; opportunity to win a trip to Oxford; strong experience for university and internship applications.

Eligibility: students who have not started a bachelor's degree by August 1, 2027; gap-year students may participate. The competition is designed for students approximately 12–19 years old. Teams may have 1–6 students. Each participant must register and pay individually before the team is formed. No prior economics knowledge or preparation is required. No separate essays, recommendation letters or interviews are required. External research, AI and ChatGPT are explicitly allowed.
