ISSAI Fall Research Program 2026 (FRP 2026)

An intensive 8-day research-oriented program for school students in Grades 7–12, organized by the Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence (ISSAI) at Nazarbayev University. The program provides hands-on experience in Artificial Intelligence through three tracks: Computer Vision, AI Engineering and Robotics. Participants receive theoretical and practical training in Deep Learning, Generative AI and Computer Vision, gain access to High Performance Computers and Nazarbayev University Robotics Laboratories, and receive mentorship from Data Scientists and researchers.

Hands-on AI experience. Three specialized tracks: Computer Vision, AI Engineering and Robotics. Courses and practical workshops in Deep Learning, Generative AI and Computer Vision. Access to High Performance Computers (HPCs). Access to Nazarbayev University Robotics Laboratories. Mentorship from Data Scientists and researchers. Official Letter of Recommendation from Dr. Huseyin Atakan Varol, Dean of the School of Computing and Artificial Intelligence and Full Professor at Nazarbayev University. Certificate of Successful Completion. Exposure to a university-level AI research environment.

Eligible participants are school students in Grades 7–12. The program is conducted on-site in Astana. The program and selection testing are conducted in English. Applicants must submit the application and complete the program's selection process. A separate motivation essay and recommendation letter are not required for the application; however, successful participants receive an official Letter of Recommendation from the Dean of the School of Computing and Artificial Intelligence and Full Professor of Nazarbayev University, Dr. Huseyin Atakan Varol. Prior research experience is not stated as a mandatory requirement. Students should be prepared for intensive AI-related study in English.
