Participants work alongside Johns Hopkins PhD students and postdoctoral researchers on real engineering research, conducting experiments or computational studies, analyzing data, and communicating results through presentations, posters and written papers. Students earn 3 Johns Hopkins University college credits. Online, hybrid commuter and hybrid residential formats are available.

Authentic university research experience; mentorship from graduate-level researchers; experimental, computational and analytical skills; research presentation, poster and written paper; 3 JHU college credits; exposure to a university research environment.

Current high-school sophomores or juniors. Applicants need A/B grades in high-school math and science, completed Algebra II, a course covering trigonometry, and a full year of high-school chemistry and/or physics with a lab. International applicants must demonstrate English proficiency; preferred scores are TOEFL 100+, IELTS 7.0+ or Duolingo 120+. Applicants who attended an English-medium school for 3+ years can use a school verification form. The application requires 1 brief essay, 1 optional essay, a teacher recommendation, official transcript and English-proficiency evidence for international applicants.
