John Locke Institute Global Essay Prize

A global academic essay competition for school students. Participants answer one question in a chosen discipline, demonstrating independent thought, knowledge, critical analysis, reasoning and persuasive writing.

Develops academic writing, critical thinking and argumentation; essays are assessed by senior academics; shortlisted students receive eCertificates; category winners receive scholarships, with a $10,000 Grand Prize scholarship.

Open to students from any country, under 19 at the regular deadline. Each student submits an individual essay of up to 2,000 words answering one question. An academic referee's email is required. Multiple essays in different categories are allowed. Essays must be in English.
