A global economics essay competition for secondary-school students. Participants choose one of five questions set by LSE Economics Department academics and submit an analytical essay of up to 1,500 words. The competition has run annually since 2017.

Secondary-school students worldwide. For 2026, the recommended level was Grades 9–12 / UK Year 12–13 and students entering university in 2026/27. One English essay of up to 1,500 words is required. Harvard referencing is recommended. AI-generated content and plagiarism are prohibited and screened. No prior registration is required.
