International Biology Olympiad (IBO)

The International Biology Olympiad (IBO) is a prestigious annual international competition for secondary-school students with outstanding abilities and knowledge in biology. The competition includes theoretical and practical tasks and brings together some of the strongest high-school biology students from around the world.

Must be under 20 years old on July 1 of the competition year. Must not be enrolled in a university or other higher-education institution. Must be a student at a secondary school. Must participate through the national biology olympiad/selection process. Students cannot apply directly to the IBO; they must qualify for their country's national team. Each country/region can send up to 4 students. A participant may take part in the IBO no more than twice.
