International Earth Science Olympiad (IESO)

The International Earth Science Olympiad (IESO) is an annual international competition for secondary-school students in Earth Sciences. It assesses knowledge and skills across geology, geophysics, meteorology, oceanography, terrestrial astronomy and environmental sciences. The competition includes theoretical and practical components as well as international team-based activities. IESO is organized under the International Geoscience Education Organisation (IGEO).

Must be a secondary-school student. According to the current IESO information, contestants must be 18 years old or younger on July 1 of the Olympiad year. Must qualify through the national selection process in the country they represent. International contestants participate as members of national delegations.
