International Applied Biology Olympiad (IABO)

An international biology competition focused on applying biological knowledge to real-world problems. Topics include genetics, ecology, microbiology, biotechnology, anatomy, physiology, environmental science and modern biological research.

International competition experience, applied biological problem-solving, scientific reasoning and presentation skills, medals/certificates, and international networking.

The official page describes IABO as being for secondary-school students worldwide. The 2024 guidebook specified Grades 9–12; exact eligibility should be checked for each current cycle. The competition includes multiple rounds, including examinations and scientific presentation/study tasks.
