Description

Research Science Institute (RSI) is a highly selective six-week summer STEM research program for exceptionally talented high school students. The program is organized by the Center for Excellence in Education (CEE) in collaboration with leading U.S. universities.

Traditionally hosted at MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts, RSI combines intensive STEM coursework with an individual research experience. Students learn advanced scientific concepts and research methods, develop an original research project with the guidance of a mentor, conduct their research, and present their findings in a scientific paper and presentation.

Requirements

Typically intended for students who have completed Grade 11 before the summer program. Exceptional academic performance, particularly in mathematics and science. Demonstrated interest in scientific research. Strong academic and extracurricular record. Previous experience in research, science competitions, Olympiads, laboratory work, or advanced STEM activities is highly valuable. International applicants may have additional country-specific eligibility or nomination requirements. Selection is extremely competitive.
