Robertson Scholars Leadership Program

A highly competitive undergraduate scholarship and leadership development program jointly associated with Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-Chapel Hill). It identifies and supports promising young leaders committed to making meaningful, transformative contributions to society. Scholars study at one university while gaining access to academic resources and opportunities at both campuses.

The scholarship covers eight semesters of full tuition, room and board, and most mandatory fees at Duke or UNC-Chapel Hill. Scholars can also receive funding for up to three summer experiences, academic-year conferences, and up to two semesters of study abroad. The program offers leadership development, mentorship, collaboration across two leading universities, and access to a strong alumni network.

High school applicants must be applying for first-year undergraduate admission to Duke University and/or UNC-Chapel Hill. Students of all nationalities, including those from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan, may apply. Applicants are evaluated on leadership, intellectual curiosity, character, initiative, collaboration, and potential for meaningful social impact. Transfer applicants and graduate students are not eligible. A separate application to the scholarship program and university admission application(s) are required.
