School of Molecular & Theoretical Biology (SMTB)

A highly selective international summer research school for high school students focused on molecular and theoretical biology. Students work in real scientific laboratories alongside active researchers, learn modern biological methods, and conduct research projects. The program combines lectures, courses, and intensive laboratory work.

Authentic research experience; laboratory work with active scientists; hands-on experiments and data analysis; international scientific environment; small-team research; final scientific conference; residential experience with faculty and students; fully funded participation for accepted students.

High school students up to their final year of school. 8th-grade students may also apply but must explain why they can keep up with a program designed for older students. Previous research experience is not required. The application includes academic achievements, scientific interests and motivation, plus a letter of support from a teacher, parent or another person selected by the applicant. Additional interviews may be requested in some cases.
