Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme

A Hungarian Government scholarship programme established in 2013 and managed by the Tempus Public Foundation. It enables international students to pursue bachelor's, master's, one-tier master's, doctoral, and certain non-degree studies at participating Hungarian higher education institutions. Available study programmes depend on agreements between Hungary and each applicant's home country.

The scholarship provides tuition-free education, a monthly stipend, a contribution toward accommodation or a place in a university dormitory, and medical insurance. Students gain access to Hungarian universities, international academic networks, and opportunities to study in a European country. However, the financial support may not cover all living expenses, so students should plan for additional personal funds.

Applicants must meet the academic, age, language, and other admission requirements of their chosen programme. Their country must participate in the scholarship scheme, and they may apply only for study fields and programmes available under the relevant bilateral agreement. Applicants must submit an online application and be nominated by the responsible authority in their home country. Additional documents and entrance examinations may be required depending on the programme and degree level.
