Robert W. Woodruff Scholarship

Emory University's flagship merit-based scholarship for exceptional incoming undergraduate students. It recognizes students with outstanding academic achievement, character, leadership and a strong commitment to positive social impact.

Full tuition, required fees, on-campus room and meals for up to eight regular academic semesters. Scholars also receive specialized advising, priority course registration, scholar programming, and opportunities for funding internships and research.

Incoming first-year applicants to Emory College or Oxford College may be considered. International applicants, regardless of citizenship, are eligible. Applicants must answer Yes to the Scholar Programs question in the Emory application; there is no separate Woodruff application. For 2026–27, the deadlines are November 1 for ED I and November 15 for ED II/Regular Decision. Around 10,000 students apply for Scholar Programs each year, with approximately 175–200 selected as finalists.
